The Year of the Ox coin is the fifth in the third series of Chinese Almanac coins first released on 2 January 1993 by the Board of Commissioners of Currency, Singapore. The first series started in 1981 with the Year of the Rooster coin and completed in 1992 with the issue of the Year of the Monkey coin.
The first series was issued in 1981. The second series in 1993. The design for the third series is inspired by Chinese calligraphy, with the animal portrayed by the appropriate Chinese character of the "Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches."This very rare coin comes with original outer cardboard box and gorgeous display case.
