The coin’s design portrays a motorcycling assassin,the partial image of a woman’s leg and a crossbow inspired by the original movie poster. James Bond is represented by the figure of a downhill skier in the background. The reverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination, the fineness and the year of issue. The 12th Bond movie sees him on a mission to revive the Royal Navy’s lost ATAC, an encrypted communications device that controls Britain’s Polaris submarine fleet. During the film’s spectacular ski scene, Bond performs a daring downhill run pursued by assassins on motorbikes with machine guns in the indicators.
